Freedom Fighters Clan - Left4Dead Server Custom Campaigns

All further posts about any changes on what is on the Left4Dead server will be posted here, I will always just update this single post, this way it saves everybody having to scroll all the way to the bottom, I have now added to this the info about the campaign as far as Tagged: co-op, versus, scavenge, survival so our members will be able to get a campaign for the mode that they wish to play.

For those that have problems at times trying to get a campaign downloaded from L4DMaps.com at times (I know sometimes I do and have had to try several times to get it downloaded correctly) I have been using a program called BitComet that Pat aka HeadRush told me about for awhile now and have never had this problem anymore plus I am able to download at 4 to 5 times the speeds that I was geting with the normal download link through L4DMaps.com, you should try this one out! It works through internet explorer (I could never get it to work through Firefox) but other then that it is fantastic! All you will need to do is download this at: http://www.bitcomet.com/doc/download.php, install it and set up an account with this application for unlimited download speed (there is no cost for this) after that you should have no problems with getting any of these custom campaigns at L4DMaps.com, plus download it so much faster.

Installing Custom Campaigns into the Game:
In order to install a custom campaign into your game simply open the zip file containing the vpk file and the extract it into the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\addons\, after this is done your campaign will be ready to go. On another note: supposedly you are supposed to be able to double click the file and the game installer will supposedly install the campaign in the correct directory, I have found that this does not always work and the instructions that I have given above always do and have never given me any problems.

12/25/2011 The custom campaign Blood Harvest COOL has now been updated on server it is now called: Blood Harvest 3, you will need to download this one to play it on the server.

01/03/2012 the Campaign: No Mercy-APOKALIPSA is no longer available at L4DMaps.com it seems that the developer of this campaign had a hissy about it being ported over to L4D2 as stated before it was completely removed from the site, he stated that he would no longer work on any more updated versions & allow it to be downloaded from that site and was only going to allow it for his friends use so I guess I no longer will need to worry about any updates for this one but I have the latest version loaded on dropbox account for download for those that wish to play it on the Left4Dead server.

01/03/2012 Blood Harvest 3 has totally disappeared from my watchlist at L4DMaps.com (do not know why on this one?) Cannot even find it by searching for it on the site, it has been totally removed, (another one I will not have to worry about any more updates on I guess) latest one that is on server has been put in my dropbox account for download also.

03/26/2012 Have found and installed another very good campaign on the server now, it is called Dead Vacation (L4D1) it has been tested and is a very good campaign for those of you that still play L4D1 it is worth giving it a try!

04/23/2012 The campaign Dead Vacation has been updated on the server you will need the latest campaign downloaded and installed on your machine in order to play this one.
