Check out the demo for sure. It starts off linear but they eventually let you into the entire map, or at least a good portion of it, and you get 45 min to do quests or whatever. The timer pauses for a lot of things like dialog and inventory afaik, so that gives you a great deal of time to try it out.
It's not really my kind of game so I didn't pick up the full version, but the combat systems and visual style are both really good.
Love the game and have a hard time getting away from it. In some aspects it reminds me of Fable but 100% better and i love the Mcfaline created monsters. Story is pretty good also being wrote by a famed author.
